Franae, the Dreadwyrm Captain

She was created for the Savage Worlds campaign, Nessecary Evil. Where as she's normally a spacefarer, a fight out in space leads to her crashlanding onto earth and severely injured and indebt to another villain there. She repays her debts, as injured as she still was.

Campaign never really started though, so I'm not sure to consider it canon.

Favorite Foods

She tries to keeps these close to her heart and believes no one knows what she actually likes. Whole crew actually knows and outside of the crew there are rumors about her real food tastes. That said, her tastes mostly haven't changed from childhood and she favors cheap processed food just a bit more than high quality meals.

Earliest Memories

Franae's earliest memories are her childhood. She lived at an orphanage on a small, backwater, planet whose main export was vegitables. It's entirely unknown who or what left Franae at their doorstep as a baby. She grew up among her human peers, though she never exactly fit in with the others aside from a chosen few. So instead she ended up doing a lot of reading to pass the time. As long as Franae could understand it, she tried to read it through. From fictional adventure to even some technical manuals.

Slave Gladiatrix

At about the age of 15 is when space pirates raided her home planet. They came guns blazing, razing and shooting down everything that dared resist them. They not only looted everything possible but took all the prisoners they could- including Franae. Once aboard, they decided what to do with each captive on a prisoner by prisoner basis. For Franae, as she was an alien of a species they couldn't really identify, the young girl was chosen to fight in the ship's coloseum as a gladiatrix. As it would be her first fight, tthey gave her an ancient pistol model, threw her into a leotard and all but threw her into the arena against another one of the captives. Her opponent was another one of the children from the orphanage who wasn't adopted either- an older boy. One who unlike Franae, didn't hesistate as soon as the match started. He came out, his own sub-machine gun blazing; however, as the smoke cleared Franae still stood bracing herself in fear with her arms and the leotard littered with bulletholes from where the bullets cut through. All around her were bullet tips that had bent, broken, or shattered on contact with Franae's body.

As Franae recovered from her fear she realized that there was only one way this match could end.

Following that, she spent her time throwing herself into combat training and reading combat manuals to try and ignore what she had done. The pirates at the time of course facilitated this by giving her matches against non-sapient animals and creatures and slowly improving her living conditions as she continued to win.

There is to be no participation in the slave trade by any member of the crew. On joining, any slaves must be released. Anyone crew members found participating are left at the nearest habititable planet in the middle of nowhere.

There is little-to-no gain in exploiting or stealing from the poor.

While Franae does have lungs, she doesn't need to breathe for survival; however, not breathing oxygen does cause her to body to generate energy slower than normal to make up for it.

Just as well, her body can handle the rigors of space as well. She would prefer to avoid doing so but going out into space is something Franae's seems built for handling.

Hearing

She listens to sounds via the fins on the sides of her head. Due to their positioning, sonuds from her front and rear are easier to detect than ones from her sides.

Sight

Franae has excellent sight overall, but she lacks the abilities to properly focus since she lacks pupils. Typically, reading up close is the only time this is a real issue so when she's on the ship she keeps a set of glasses adjusted to her eyes to make reading far easier.

Despite her great abilities, the one thing holding her back tends to be her miserable luck. Its severe enough that seems to land her in less than desirable situations.
